The 19 Best Nutritional Supplements That Will Change Your Life

Eating a healthy, balanced diet and keeping active are keys to living a more healthy life. Unfortunately, the pressures of modern-day life and the availability of processed food make eating and moving as you should a challenge. Adding a daily regime of nutritional supplementation can help you meet your goals for wellness. Here are our picks for the top 19 nutritional supplements.

DSF Formula

Stress is the number one complaint many health practitioners hear. And stress often contributes to adrenal fatigue/exhaustion. The top-selling Nutri‐West product contains adrenal glandular and synergistic nutrition to support adrenal health.

DSF Formula stands for De‐Stress Formula. It is available in bottles of 60 or 120 easy-to-swallow tablets. DSF Herbal offers a vegetarian alternative.

Core Level Health Reserve

Many people prefer the convenience of a multivitamin supplement. So, it is no wonder that the second most popular product in the Nutri‐West line is Core Level Health Reserve.

The unique, proprietary formula provides essential vitamins and minerals, plus additional herbs, amino acids and other nutrients that take it above and beyond for optimal health. Available in 60 and 120-tablet bottles.

Hypo-D and GB Plus

Many people produce less hydrochloric acid, enzymes, and bile as they age. Hypo D gives you hydrochloride which is so important to prevent bacterial/parasitic invasion and starts protein digestion plus digestive enzymes to optimize nutrient absorption and assimilation.

GB Plus works to complement the Hypo‐D formula and support the liver/gall bladder connection for complete digestion. Together they provide a powerhouse of support for digestion.

Sago-C 500

Given the many varied functions of vitamin C in the body, it is no surprise that it is essential to the immune system’s function.

The buffered Vitamin C found in SAGO-C 500 is utilized to help clear toxic metals and substances from the body in order to detoxify and achieve optimal health.

B-Complex

Enjoy the synergistic action of all the B vitamins in one easy dose with B-Complex.

For added benefits, the B vitamins are boosted with choline and inositol, which are vitamin‐like substances that participate in fat metabolism.

Total Leaky Gut

It’s been estimated that over 80% of the body’s immune power lies in the gut! A healthy gut lining provides a barrier to foreign invaders, and also optimizes nutrient extraction from food. A compromised or leaky gut is common and leads to dysfunction and disease.

The gut is one of the first places to start when implementing a nutritional protocol, assuring that the right stuff gets through, and the wrong stuff is headed off at the pass. That’s where Total Leaky Gut shines. We’ve been told at Nutri‐West that this formula works extremely well, even when other brands have been tried but failed, making this product a true winner and life changer.

Methyl Renew

One of the most important reactions in the body for producing bioactive compounds is methylation. At least half of the population carries a gene polymorphism that impairs the ability to methylate.

Methyl Renew contains active folate (5 MTHF) and other synergistic nutrients that optimize the methylation process.

Complete Omega-3 Essentials 2:1

Fish oil has been demonstrated to improve cell-to-cell communication, and to have a huge impact on inflammation and overall health and risk factors. Factors like quality, concentrations, and ratios of EPA/DHA, and assurance against contamination all come into play when choosing a fish oil.

Complete Omega-3 Essentials 2:1 by Nutri‐West offers the best in pharmaceutical grade, molecularly distilled fish oil. If you’re comparing apples to apples, there’s no comparison!

Total Probiotics

Probiotics help regulate our bowels, our immune system, and our general health. Most people don’t have enough.

Total Probiotics offers high-potency vegetable intestinal flora. Probiotics are shown to improve the immune systems of even average individuals not challenged with health issues.

Complete Paleo (Protein)

From Muscle Recovery to Meal Boosting and Immune Support, Complete Paleo is a true paleo protein powder offering hypoallergenic, hydrolyzed beef protein for ultimate delivery and absorption of the amino acid building blocks essential for the body’s needs.

The Nutri-West formulation contains no dairy, no dairy, and no fillers or sweeteners so you are assured to receive only pure protein.

Total FLM

Undetected, low‐grade systemic inflammation is believed to be the cause of most degenerative diseases of mankind. Nutrients like ginger, Boswellia, quercetin, turmeric (curcumin), glutathione builders, etc. are natural cox‐2 inhibitors (supporting an anti‐inflammatory environment).

Total FLM is popular because it addresses not only inflammation from trauma, but the systemic

inflammation that threatens our health.

Complete Gluco‐D or Vana-Chrom

Blood sugar regulation is a major concern in a day and age when insulin insensitivity is rampant and responsible for a domino effect of dysfunction. Complete Gluco‐D synergistically addresses not only blood sugar balance and sensitivity to insulin; it contains nutrients such as benfotiamine that have been shown to interfere with all three pathways of tissue destruction due to high sugar levels in the blood.

Use Complete Gluco‐D to “bring out the big guns” with hard‐hitting nutrients like alpha lipoic acid, quercetin, Gymnema Sylvestre, etc., and use Vana‐Chrom (chromium and vanadyl sulfate with supporting vitamins and minerals) as an effective (less expensive) formula.

Complete Hi D3 or Complete Immuno D3

Research shows that the vast majority of the population suffers from insufficiency to frank deficiency of vitamin D and that higher doses of vitamin D are responsible for multiple health benefits.

Vitamin D, like that in Complete Hi D3, is known to increase the production of regulatory T‐cells, and for that reason is a fantastic support nutrient for autoimmune conditions. In meta‐analyses, vitamin D has proven over and over to be superior immune support for the cold and flu season. And for complete immune system support, Nutri-West offers Complete Immuno D3 with all the benefits of D supplementation plus beta-sitosterol, probiotics, and quercetin.

Complete Neuro

The nervous system is responsible for many of the tasks we carry out daily, not to mention brain power/cognitive processes. It is sometimes disrupted by injury, genetics, environment, and even autoimmune disorders.

Complete Neuro contains a synergistic formula of resveratrol, curcumin, and other nutrients to optimally facilitate nerves, the nerve repair process, and nerve-to-nerve communication.

Total JT Plus

Clinical trials show that glucosamine and chondroitin are more powerful when combined together. Trials also show the efficacy of nutrients like green‐lipped mussel when it comes to connective tissue health.

One of the top complaints we hear concerns painful, inflamed connective tissue, making Total JT Plus one of our top performers and most popular products.

Total Systemic D‐Tox

We are challenged every day by environmental assaults that impede the biological processes that keep us going: fatigue, fogginess, aches and pains, and general malaise have a way of changing for the better when toxins are released from the tissues, bound by nutrition, and facilitated out of the body by the seven detox pathways.

No matter what the condition, plan for a sunnier outlook after implementing a detox protocol. Total Systemic D‐Tox is sometimes paired with Met Tox (HO) to mobilize the metals that Total Systemic D‐Tox will then help remove.

Total VR-X and Virex (Homeopathic)

A viral attack can devastate plans for normal, planned activity, and lets you know that the immune system power is running dangerously low.

Total VR‐X is the Nutri‐West Silver Bullet for support. Virex provides a vegetarian, homeopathic alternative for use in pregnancy/newborns.

Total YST Redux and Cand-Ex (Homeopathic)

Fungal yeast infections have become increasingly common and troublesome, especially candida infections.

Total Yst Redux is fast and effective with strong nutrition like caprylic acid, citrus seed extract, berberis, garlic, etc. Cand‐Ex offers a homeopathic alternative for pregnancy/newborns.

SLP Renew Lozenges or Complete Melatonin

SLP Renew is a powerful and unique formula designed to deliver calming and sleep‐promoting ingredients in a quick and easy way in the form of a slow-dissolving lozenge. The absorption of GABA (a relaxing neurotransmitter) and melatonin are optimized, as this great-tasting lozenge dissolves directly into the bloodstream for calming effects, with health support as an added benefit!

Melatonin is a neurohormone, best known for its sleep-support abilities. Complete Melatonin, with 5 mg of melatonin, also supports many other areas, including healthy aging and immune function.  It is an important antioxidant for mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of the cell.

The Top 4 Best Natural Antioxidant Supplements

As a chiropractor, patients frequently see you with complaints of pain, fatigue, gastric upset, and injury. Often, the underlying cause is inflammation. COX-2 inhibitors haven’t turned out to be the breakthrough promised. Celecoxib is still available in the US, but a 2013 review found that it was no more effective than ibuprofen, another common NSAID, in relieving pain.

Thankfully, there are many natural substances with powerful health properties and these substances are found in foods and natural antioxidant supplements.

Citrus Bioflavonoids

Citrus has been considered a medically important plant since the earliest times. Flavonoids are plant compounds offering a variety of free radical scavenging solutions.

The most common citrus flavonoids are:

  • Hesperidin
  • Hesperetin
  • Naringin
  • Naringenin
  • Rutin
  • Diosmin
  • Nobiletin
  • Tangeretin
  • Eriodictyol

These flavonoids all have a pentagonal shape and have been studied for their impact on insulin resistance, cardiovascular health, and other beneficial effects.

Results from research aimed at the positive health impact of Mediterranean or keto diets to the relationship between oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and neurodegenerative disorders have found that these plant compounds play an important role in health. This was even when the flavonoids themselves weren’t the subject of the research.

Citrus bioflavonoids function to stabilize cell membranes, lessen the discharge of inflammation mediators, hinder the inflammatory process, and decrease the contraction of smooth muscle tissue.

Those who look to the juice of citrus to meet their dietary needs are faced with two problems: firstly, the amount of citrus juice required to reach efficacy levels is extremely high and secondly, citrus juice and citrus drinks are high in natural sugar (fructose) and calories and low in fiber.

In this instance, dietary supplementation is clearly much more practical than adding citrus bioflavonoids to the diet for inflammation.

Turmeric

The tuber or rhizome of the turmeric plant is what gives curry its distinctive yellow color. Turmeric also gives prepared mustard that bright yellow hue.

Turmeric is valued for more than cooking and coloring food, it is used in traditional and naturopathic medicine, and is valued for its curcumin content.

Traditionally, curcumin has been used for its antioxidative properties, but only recently has medical science studied the mechanism of benefit. Research shows the ability of curcumin to improve systemic markers of oxidative stress. Other studies have demonstrated curcumin’s ability to reduce histamine levels and possibly increase natural cortisone production by the adrenal glands.

The problem with relying on diet for curcumin is the limited bioavailability of this important polyphenol.

Studies find that poor absorption, rapid metabolism, and quick elimination from the body make ingesting sufficient curcumin problematic.  When turmeric is consumed along with piperine from black pepper, the bioavailability is increased by 2000%

But exactly who wants to eat mustard and black pepper in large quantities with each meal? This is another instance where adding supplements with natural ingredients makes much more sense than obtaining them through a regular diet.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

When you hear Omega-3 fatty acids, many people think of cardiovascular health. But a review of animal experiments and clinical intervention studies indicates that these fatty acids offer antioxidative benefits and may offer health benefits to bodies suffering from inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

But not all Omega-3s are the same. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are more biologically potent than alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). EPA and DHA are commonly found in fish whereas ALA is plant-based and is found in the seeds of flax, hemp, and chia.

Herring, salmon, tuna, and mackerel offer the highest amounts of Omega-3s per serving. Herring provides a whopping 1828 mg EPA/DHA per serving. So, if you want your patients to receive 1200 mg of Omega-3s per day, simply recommend that they eat one serving of herring each day, seven days a week. Herring carries less risk of mercury contamination than the other fish, so it is safe to eat daily.

But who wants to eat herring every day? Unless your patients are seals, it makes more sense to recommend they supplement their weekly intake of seafood with natural Omega-3 fatty acid supplements. If your patients are averse to seafood, then supplementation is most certainly the best option.

Milk Thistle

Milk thistle is considered a noxious weed in many parts of the country. But this highly-invasive plant is prized for removing waste and toxins and thus reducing inflammation.

Silymarin, a key component in milk thistle, has a proven anti-inflammatory effect. Laboratory studies on human liver and T cell lines indicate that silymarin suppresses cellular inflammation.

Silybin is the major active constituent of silymarin. It has a steroid structure like many of the other silymarin components.

Despite its natural antioxidative properties and weedy dispersion in the landscape, milk thistle isn’t a common part of the everyday American diet. Supplementation is the best way to enhance the diet with milk thistle.

Natural Antioxidant Products

For chiropractors and other medical professionals that want to improve their patient’s intake of natural antioxidant substances, supplementation is the best option.

Nutri-West manufactures several products with natural ingredients.

Complete Omega-3 Essentials provides high-quality fatty acids in the form of EHA, DHA, ALA, and GLA.

Pro-En-Zyme contains specially prepared enzymes for support of processes that clear reactive oxidative species from the body. It is an easy-to-take formula that includes lemon bioflavonoids and turmeric too.

Complete Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant, immune nutrient, and detoxifier that offers milk thistle and other key ingredients in tablet form. If you aren’t sure what natural antioxidant products will benefit your patients, reach out to Nutri-West of New York. One of our chiropractors will help you select the products that will improve patient outcomes.

Understanding the Role of Prebiotics and Probiotics in Support of the Gut-Brain Axis

Research continues to further advance our understanding of the importance of a healthy microbiome in the gut to the overall health of the body. We used to say, “you are what you eat”. But now we understand what you eat defines more than who you are, it defines how you think and what you feel.

Affect, motivation, and higher cognitive functions depend on the health of the gut microbiome. Therefore, prebiotics and probiotics are crucial to maintaining a healthy gut. To better understand the need for gut support, it helps to understand the gut-brain axis.

Mapping the Gut-Brain Axis

The gut-brain axis (GBA) involves bidirectional communication between the central and the enteric nervous system. The molecular interaction is complex. The central nervous system maintains gut homeostasis and proper digestion while the gut produces hormones such as serotonin that impact everything from mood to the quality of sleep. Afferent and efferent neurons connect neuronal pathways and transmit signals. In order to function properly, the gut relies on a microbiome teeming with gut microbiota.

Source

These microbiota inhabit the gastrointestinal tract, which offers a large but vulnerable surface to house their ecosystem. Dietary patterns, medication usage, bacterial or viral infection, and environmental factors can disrupt the gut microbiome and negatively impact gut health. Disruption in the gut upsets the communication flow between the gut and the brain. Researchers suspect this disruption can result in conditions ranging from Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease to autism spectrum disorder. While research continues, what is clear is that in order to support a healthy body and a healthy mood, you must support a healthy gut. This is where prebiotics and probiotics play an important role.

Healthy Gut Microbiome

Trillions of microbes reside in the healthy human body, and the bulk of these make their home in the gut. The gut microbiota represents four phyla: Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Actinobacteria. In addition, two minor phyla, Verrucomicrobia and Fusobacteria are represented as well.

The bacteria communicate with each other as well as the host epithelium to maintain homeostasis and support the immune system. When the biome is balanced and the patient is healthy, these gut microbiota stimulate the production of short-chain fatty acids, gut-derived peptides, neurotransmitters, and regulatory T and B cells through their interactions with intestinal immune cells.

Source

However, when the intestinal flora are disrupted and gut health is compromised, the microbiota support inflammation through increased inflammatory T and B cells, LPS, and production of proinflammatory cytokines to disrupt the blood-brain barrier.

The brain isn’t the only organ to suffer. An unhealthy gut microbiome interferes with healthy insulin and GABA levels and can also contribute to constipation, gas, bloating, IBS, ulcers, diarrhea, and reflux.

Negative Influences on the Gut Biome

Antibiotics can provide a powerful tool for fighting infection and ridding the body of unwanted bacteria. Unfortunately, antibiotics can’t differentiate between the good bacteria in the gut and the bad bacteria causing infection. Random studies of the effect of amoxicillin show a reduced abundance of enterobacteria after a course of treatment.

Highly processed foods are high in sugar. Recent studies indicate that a high intake of sugar increases the relative abundance of Proteobacteria in the gut microbiome while at the same time decreasing the abundance of Bacteroidetes. This imbalance promotes metabolic endotoxemia and systemic inflammation. The diet is one of the most influential factors in maintaining a healthy gut. Prebiotics and probiotics offer nutritional support to any diet.

How Prebiotics and Probiotics Support a Healthy Gut

The microbiome must be fed on a regular basis. Prebiotics are non-digestible plant fibers that feed the intestinal flora. Flaxseeds, okra, broccoli, artichokes, garlic, onions, avocados, green bananas, sweet potatoes, in-season blueberries and 100% cacao are examples of healthy prebiotics. Ideally, the diet would provide the right amount of plant fiber to keep the good bacteria in the gut well-fed.

Unfortunately, the modern diet often lacks sufficient plant fiber to keep the microbiome properly fed. Ironically, in feeding the body many people inadvertently starve their intestinal flora and their gut health suffers.

Probiotics supplement the beneficial microorganisms we want to flourish in the gut. While some probiotics are ingested through the diet, it frequently isn’t enough to keep the microbiome in balance. Yogurt may be a great source of Lactobacillus Acidophilus, but it isn’t a viable option for the lactose intolerant.

Everyone benefits from nutritional supplementation with prebiotics and probiotics. Both are provided in the Total Probiotics supplement by Nutri-West.

Adding Total Probiotics to a daily regime of supplements ensures each patient gets all the prebiotics and probiotics they need to support a healthy gut biome. It’s like feeding and replenishing the microbiome on a daily basis.

A healthy gut is crucial for a healthy body.

How to Grow a Chiropractic Business: An Actionable Guide

A chiropractic business is like any other business. If your practice isn’t growing, it is dying. Operating as a successful chiropractor requires fusing your talents as a natural health practitioner with a keen sense for business. Whether you outsource practice management and marketing or handle it yourself, a little inspiration can help get the ball rolling if you are feeling stuck. Read on to get ideas on how to grow a chiropractic business.

Laser Focus On Your Market

Don’t try to be the chiropractor for every market. When you are out in the community, be an advocate for chiropractic services to your target market.

If you are focused on athletes, make sure your networking activities are aligned with sports and fitness. It doesn’t make sense to give a talk at the senior center when your time is better spent at the local athletic club or gym.

Are you interested in serving the needs of families? Then you’ll want to be a part of local school-based health fairs and speak at PTA meetings.

If keeping seniors healthy and active is your passion, then senior centers, churches, and libraries are all great places to connect with your market.

From your print advertising to digital marketing, make sure your messages, images, and content all focus on your target market.

Solicit Testimonials

Testimonials are one of the best ways to showcase your ability to make a positive change in a person’s life. But you won’t get testimonials unless you ask for them.

88% of consumers consider online testimonials to be as trustworthy as a personal recommendation. When a patient leaves your office, make sure they leave with literature soliciting a testimonial.

If you have patient email addresses or cellphone numbers, send email letters or text messages soliciting feedback and a testimonial.

You are more likely to get a testimonial if you make it easy. Be sure to include links to the platforms, websites, or apps (Google Business, Yelp, Health Grades) you are targeting.

Let your patients know you value their feedback and that patient reviews are helpful to others looking for chiropractic care.

Invest in Digital Marketing

People are more connected than ever to their digital devices. Over 50% of the traffic on the internet comes from mobile devices. Use of the term “near me” has increased dramatically, and 27% of searchers visit a business website after searching “near me”.

Make sure your Google Business listing is complete and up-to-date. When returning results for local searches, Google almost always lists the Google Business profile.

According to Pew Research on social media usage in 2021, if you are targeting adults under the age of 30, you should focus efforts on Instagram and TikTok. The same research shows that over half of those 65 and older use Facebook. To get the most of your social media marketing dollars, use the channel that matches your target audience.

Because social media offers a walled garden experience, it is possible to geotarget your ads to increase conversions. Leverage the network’s data to target by interest and age as well.

If you don’t feel comfortable with digital marketing, reach out to a local marketing agency. They can help you determine a budget, define goals, and create campaigns to generate leads and convert leads to sales.

Add Complementary Services

Partner with other professionals to add complementary services. Are you targeting athletes? It might pay to team up with an acupuncturist.  One-third of NFL teams are using acupuncture to aid injury recovery and treat pain. Amateur athletes are following their lead. Build a practice around helping athletes with chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy.

Do you serve the senior community? Research shows that over 50% of American seniors are malnourished.  Add the services of a dietician to help your senior patients improve their nutrition and overall health. Physical therapy services can improve balance to help prevent falls and keep seniors mobile. Consider partnering with a physical therapist and/or occupational therapist.

Add Nutritional Supplements

Because overall health is so closely tied with nutrition and dietary intake, it only makes sense that a powerful way to grow a chiropractic business combines chiropractic services with nutritional supplements.

Many Americans are interested in dietary supplements, but they don’t know what to take and they lack trust in off-the-shelf options.

By adding nutritional supplements to your arsenal of treatments you support better overall health and can even micro-target deficiencies you identify.

Adding supplements to your practice increases cash flow, improves overall patient care, and results in better outcomes.

The Top 5 Supplements Chiropractors Recommend Now

A National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study found that 80% of chiropractors practicing in New York state offer nutritional counseling. Because chiropractors treat such a wide variety of chronic disorders that arise from conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, they are well- positioned to  tailor their nutritional supplementation recommendations to the patient. But year after year, there are 5 supplements that chiropractors recommend to support overall better health. These most recommended nutritional supplements form the basic foundation to support well-being.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are important for the production of hormones at healthy and balanced levels. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are long-chain polyunsaturated fats that occur naturally in fish, shellfish, and some algae. These fats are essential to building almost every cell in the human body. In addition, they are important for proper joint lubrication and serve as powerful antioxidants to scavenge harmful free radicals.

In addition, Omega 3 fatty acids offer nutritional support to the heart, lungs, blood vessels, and immune system.  Supplementing with Omega 3 fatty acids  can support healthy triglyceride levels and curb stiffness. According to Rutgers, the EPA and DHA found in Omega 3 supplements can also boost the effectiveness of inflammation-fighting prescription drugs. Other researchers studying cultures that eat a diet high in Omega 3 fatty acids note those populations have a lower incidence of depression.

Supplementing with Omega 3 fatty acids just makes sense. While eating a daily diet high in fish might provide enough EPA and DHA it, unfortunately, comes with the risk of ingesting too much mercury. Mackerel, wild swordfish, tilefish, shark, orange roughy, and bigeye tuna are great sources of Omega 3 fatty acids, but they are also a great source of mercury and PCBs.

Probiotics

The good bacteria and yeasts in the gut are essential for good digestive health. Collectively referred to as probiotics, these beneficial organisms can be destroyed by illness, antibiotics and other medications, and consuming processed foods.

Chiropractors recommend probiotic supplements to restore the microbiome in the gut and support health in the digestive system and the immune system. Probiotics can help patients look good (by supporting healthy skin) and feel good (by enhancing serotonin).

An NIH meta-study of rodent models found that probiotics had a positive impact on GABA levels, insulin levels, cognitive function, and much more.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Bifidobacterium are naturally found in yogurt, dairy, and fermented foods. Getting enough probiotics is difficult when patients avoid dairy due to problems with lactic acid and a diet high in probiotic-rich fermented foods can put tooth enamel at risk.

To maintain steady levels of probiotics, chiropractors recommend dietary supplementation with probiotics for both men and women.

Vitamin D

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the American public to the importance of maintaining the proper levels of Vitamin D for a healthy immune system.

But Vitamin D has been one of the most recommended supplements for years. Chiropractors recognized early on that Vitamin D was more than a nutrient our patients ate, but it was also a hormone their bodies made under ideal conditions.

According to Harvard, Vitamin D holds the possibility to reduce cancer cell growth, help control infections and reduce inflammation. Every human cell has receptors for Vitamin D, and the possibilities for better health through Vitamin D have only been partially explored.

Very few foods naturally contain Vitamin D and foods fortified with Vitamin D have often been highly processed, something chiropractors recommend their patients avoid. Vitamin D can be produced on the skin upon exposure to sunlight, but not everyone gets adequate sunlight exposure, especially when days are short.

Through provider-recommended Vitamin D supplementation, patients receive nutritional support for every cell and system in the body.

Adrenal and Stress Support

Modern life can be extremely stressful. While humans are incredibly suited to adapt to changes, sometimes change comes so fast it creates added stress. In these stressful times, the adrenal glands need all the support they can get.

The adrenals produce hormones to regulate metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, response to stress, and other essential functions. To help patients cope with stress, chiropractors frequently recommend supplements like DSF (a stress-fighting formula) to provide nutritional support for the nervous system and the adrenal glands.

This proprietary formula brings together glandulars, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals to synergistically support the various energy-producing systems of the body. For vegetarian patients, a formula without glandulars is also available.  By combining these essentials in one capsule, dosing is much easier to make compliance more likely.

Multi-Vitamins

When it comes to making nutritional supplementation easy, nothing does the job like a multi-vitamin. It’s no wonder that a general multi-vitamin is one of the most common chiropractor-recommended supplements.

Even if they don’t recommend individual supplements, many chiropractors recommend a basic synergistic multi-vitamin like Core Level Health Reserve for nutritional support.

Ideally, these multi-formula supplements will bring together vitamins, minerals, plant constituents, amino acids, and fiber to support overall health and vigor.

Recommending Supplements to Patients

Chiropractors provide a valuable benefit to their patients when they combine traditional chiropractic services with nutritional counseling and supplementation.

If you aren’t sure what supplements you should recommend or aren’t sure where to start, Nutri-West of New York can help. We are chiropractors that have seen for ourselves the power of supplements to enhance health. Contact us today for a free consultation.

Vitamin D Facts

4 Vitamin D Facts Everyone Should Know

  1. Compelling evidence indicates vitamin D deficiency is the ‘seasonal stimulus’ responsible for flu outbreaks.
  2. “Physiological doses (800-2,000 IU/day) of vitamin D prevent many viral infections”, and “Vitamin D is the ‘antibiotic vitamin’ due primarily to its robust effects on innate immunity“.
  3. Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial: 104 women given vitamin D were 3 times less likely to report cold and flu symptoms. “A low dose (800 IU/day) not only reduced incidence, it abolished the seasonality of reported colds and flu. A higher dose (2,000 IU/day), given during the last year of their trial, virtually eradicated all reports of cold or flu“.
  4. Vitamin D deficiency predisposes children to respiratory infections, and an interventional study showed vitamin D reduces the incidence.

Nutri-West Presents: Complete Immuno D3

Complete Immuno D3 — Ingredients: Vitamin D3 (from fish liver oil) 2,500 IU; This formula is boosted by other well-researched immune ingredients, such as beta-sitosterol, probiotics, and quercetin.
